Droid 3 not receiving or sending MMS

I just noticed the other day that my phone would not download a picture that my friend sent me. It gave the me option to download or to reject the message. I clicked the download and it just loads for a little bit and then nothing. Message still fails. Today, I tried to send a picture message and I was unable to send it, it said it was not able to send message. I tried to hard reset by taking the battery out. Turning on and off the phone, turning on my data and turning it off, and even tried over wifi and still nothing. If anyone one knows how to resolve this it would be greatly appreciated... I am a very frustrated Verizon customer at the moment.

Could be the files are too large. Do you know the size?

I tired to send a message that was 865 KB and it immediately says text message not sent. I even tried to clear the data in the application manager. And I called *228 to reprogram it, nothing has worked yet.

I do not have a Moto, but go into settings and make sure there is not a size limit option in there.

Also, if you have not DL'd it, try the app Handcent for messaging and see if the pic goes through

There is nothing that limits the size, I could only find one that limited the number of messages per conversation. I downloaded handcent as well and still nothing.

Ad9109, that is terrible that you can not receive picture messages! I use my messaging app all the time and I would be frustrated as well. Do you have any issues with text messaging? Can you send and receive text messages? Do you have any trouble sending emails?

When you try to download the photo what error message do you get? Do you even get one?

You mentioned that you did a hard reset by pulling the battery and you did take other proactive measures to resolve this but have you performed a master reset on the device? The master reset will erase your device completely and bring it back to its original state. Doing a master reset is one of the last steps we would take in resolving this issue. Before you do the master reset, make sure that you contacts are synced up with Google. Here are the steps to do the master reset:

From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
Touch Reset Phone

Once you take this measure, reprogram the phone by dialing *228 hit send and choose option 1. When the phone is programmed your messaging issue will be resolved. I hope this helps. Thank you.
