Unable to send texts to certain contacts but able to receive

I can send texts to one person that's not on verizon but cannot send texts to my mother or my friends that have phones on verizon. However i can receive texts from them and everything else on my phone works fine. What's the deal? Anyone else having the same problem?

I have seen this on some device because the contact information was being inported from a Social Network like Facebook or Tweeter and the contact information is added incorrectly and usually list the call as a long distance number and adds a +1 and this restricted the number to be sent or called..... 

 

Please check the numbers of the user you are having issues with and if the number is incorrect try editing the number at the souce to correct..
