Upgraded DROID X Software to System Version 4.5.596.MB810.Verizon.en.US

I have upgraded my DROID X software from the issued version of 2.2 to 2.3.3. Unfortunately directly after the upload completed my Droid started to turn itself off and on. Powering it down by the Power Button wasn't an option as that function did not work. I had and still have to remove the battery in order for it to remain on without stalling and restarting over and over and over.

Speaking to Verizon reps at store level: I was insturcted to do a Factory Reset. Thata should clear up all issues as it is possible that an application that was not compatiable with DROID's upgrade was present.

The Factory Reset failed to correct the problem as well. I removed all apps that I downloaded and, again, did a factory reset. My 2nd Factory Reset was logged.

Does anyone know of a solution without returning the unit for replacement under warranty?

eliminate all the apps you added before the upgrade and see if the problem goes away.

I was switched to a Droid X2 and while, in my opinion, the Gingerbread update is a bit better here, its still plagued with issues. I'm sure Motorola and Verizon will issue a software patch in the next month or 2 that will sort out a lot of these issues. Unfortunately, we have to wait until then.
