LG Enlighten will not turn after battery death

Fell asleep last night before I was able to charge my LG Enlighten. Now it;s dead and has been plugged into my PC via USB for oh about 2.5 hours now and it still wont turn on. Any ideas? Or am I being impatient because my HTC turned on plugged in even after battery death.

I've only has this phone 3 days so I'm still learning. :smileymad:

OK well I beat the crap out of the phone and it turned on.

Next time try plugging in the phone to a WALL charger after the battery dies and leave it alone and off for at a minimum of an hour if not several hours.

Here we go again! I. My wife and I bought the same phone two years ago - LG-VX9200. It had a known battery problem. Verizon Wireless wouldn't acknowledge it even though there were over 250 complaints on this Community. The phone would turn on and off indiscriminately. Their techs said that it needed a firmware upgrade. B.S. Finally, my wife was given a new phone because she had 'insurance' on her phone. I didn't. I'm not paying extra for a piece of equipment that I paid $153.00 for. That says a lot for the electronic equipment on the market today. (Sorry for the rant.) I went back and forth with VW. After speaking with my fifth support person - an administrator - I said that I was going to call the Federal Trade Commission. She said, "Go ahead." I did and got a case number from the FTC and called VW back. After two minutes on the phone they decided to send me a 'remanufactured certified' phone - the same model which the battery case which was manufactured poorly on the first phone. And it was on the second phone as well. So I put up with it until I could upgrade. Now I have the same issue as others. I'm a light user and I charge up overnight and by dinner time the same day I have to recharge it before I go out for the evening. I'm taking it to a VW store and if I don't get a new phone (not the same model of course, this phone was free, does bait and switch come to mind) - part of the deal for another two year contract - back to the FTC and they told me to call the State Attorney General's office. Didn't make sense until I realized that VW has a few lawsuits concerning their service contracts, etc. So, remember FTC. That's what they're there for and they do their job effectively.

I just went on a tear about an hour or so ago about the LG Enlighten battery life issue. Well, I gotta eat humble pie - a good chunk of it. I'll start off with the fact that I'll never purchase another LG phone of any kind again. With that being said, I called the VW support line. Turns out the phone is a bit smarter than me. Somewhat of a computer guy, computers have a processor(s), memory and an OS. There are things that a computer does behind the scenes, so to speak, called Services. I did go into Settings originally and turn off a handful of utilities that I wouldn't be using. What never crossed my mind was the fact that there are many Services, somewhat like you'd find on a computer. ie: WiFi, OS odds and ends and other software updates that run in the background - a virus scan is a good example. I reached a support person by the name of Eric. We went through the Apps-Settings options and I found out, that like a computer, there are many Services that are running that aren't essential for 'my type' of usage. So if I turn these Services off, the processor(s), memory and OS aren't as busy which means more battery life. That simple! But just like a laptop, the more time I spend on the laptop and the type of work that I'm doing, the battery will have to be charged more often if I'm not plugged into an AC power supply. Eric was very gracious and courteous. I hope this reaches his superiors. He assisted me in getting another phone. If you call VW support, ask for Eric.

My battery died yesterday and now it won't come on. I plugged it up to charger for at least 2 hours. Will not come back on. I only got this phone yesterday. Now it won't work. I am upset... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks..

Try removing the battery for about 10n seconds and then reinstall and charge. I've had the same issue from time to time--and NOT just with the LG Enlighten and with other services besides Verizon. I've found that this will usually correct the problem and it's a quick, easy fix.
