Yep, mine just rebooted and I see the update beginning
Now that T-bolt is getting it's update: HTC needs to send some Update ^^^^ Love to us Incredible owners to fix the iggies on them as well. mine likes to brain fart! shut down that is on the second to 3rd picture i try to take with it. An it likes to come back on when i shut it off. i guess it's telling me i messing with your head you old Fart. has any one had one of those moments it seems to come more an more these Days.... i guess its cost of having these little gadgets. B33
I have been trying to get the update since last night and when I try I get the "Error Service Unavailable" popup.
From what I am reading, they are pushing the update out to T-bolts that had the original update to 2.3, then to handsets with 2.2.
For anyone getting the update, please let us know if you are getting the full 146 MB update or the smaller ~14 GB update so we know which update they are pushing. I've seen a bunch of people getting the smaller update to upgrade from the previous GB update that got pulled but I haven't seen any indications that the full 146 GB update is being pushed yet. Thanks.!
crshinn, I am sure that you meant MB and not GB in your post. Because if the OTA was actually 146 GB, you would not get it since the micro SD card is only 32 GB.
Im with Stargazer, just get the Error "SERVICE UNAVAILABLE"
I had been trying in the recent days and would get the "No New Software Available" but wanted to know if you guys thought the server is just busy or what?
Want the new update as I didnt get the original. Any suggestions other than manually downloading it?
Just checked manually and my phone told me there was a 13MB update, downloading now.
I am getting the update right now. It just finished downloading (14 MB). I was updating my contacts and I manually started the backup assistant and I noticed that after the backup it said that the service was unavailable. I tried again and it was sucessful, so I went ovet to the software update and it worked. It is now installing the update.
I'm getting the 146.369 MB Update.

just got the large 146mb update pulled it at around 8:46am PST FINALY 2.3.4 YAAAAAA
Just got the 146MB at 858AM PST, San Diego. Downloading now.
yeah, yeah...GB, MB whatever. My bad.
Anyway, my 146 MB download just started using a manual update.
Good luck everyone!
I think the difference between the update sizes are possibly for the users that got the first Gingerbread update will get the smaller update (almost 14 MB) and those that did not get the first Gingerbread update will get the larger update (146 MB). That's just my opinion.
Woo the front facing camera work with google talk
I got the smaller update last night (Oct 25) since I was part of the group that got the GB update several weeks ago. Since the update my phone won't stop rebooting. It has rebooted at least 10 times in the last 15 hours. My phone is pretty much useless, unless I need a paperweight. Disappointed. btw - I had no issues with the GB update from several weeks ago.
Update took 15 mins and killed half my battery. Phone works well after update, seems to navigate thru apps and whatnot faster. Update added a bunch of bookmarks but other than that, it doesn't look much different except for the bottom left apps button isn't an arrow anymore and the apps scroll differently.
Phone restarted like 3 times during update process and has been good for a few hours now.
So who's going to make the "Where's ICS thread?"
I'm getting the whole 146 right now... Oct 26th at 1211PM. I checked for the update myself, and it was available. I have had the phone about a month. Don't know what version it had on it.
How long does it take to download? I'm currently downloading it and just curious. Seems like it is taking forever

Depends. Are you on 3G, LTE or wifi? 3G could take up to a half hour where lte may only take 5-10
I connected to WiFi before I started the download.
Never mind. It just turned off and there is now a green loading bar on a black screen. It is barely moving
@Stargazer: I had been getting the "Error Service Unavailable" popup when I was checking for new sw update also. It went away after I power-cycled my TB.
@crshinn: I'm dl right now, apparently it's the full 146MB because it's taking quite a while >45min, even over my corp WiFi. I'm upgrading from 2.2 Froyo (vzw replaced my TB with a Froyo "certified like new" after the voicemail debacle in the GB update).
Working an Looking good with all the Kinks out of it.
Well, my phone is still randomly rebooting after the update. Not as bad as the first 12-15 hours but has still rebooted another 2-3 times in the last 12 hours.
You may need a factory reset as it sounds like something may have gotten borked with the update.

Have you tried doing a factory reset?
Hello dgrimm25!
Nobody wants to endure the aggravation of a phone rebooting, no matter how often it does. I would like to help.
Have you tried the hard reset, just as suggested by PJNC284 and crshinn? I'm confident that will resolve the issue with the rebooting of your device. Please share so we can provide a fix for others that are experiencing the same problem.
A couple of issues have come up but also have been resolved.
The update turned off, for inexplacble reasons, the instand photo upload to Google +. This problem was resolved by clearing out all the data FOR GOOGLE + ONLY on the phone, which also erases login info to Google +, and starting over. Instand upload worked fine after logging back in.
Note that Instant Upload craps out if your local connection has two bars or less. You can recover later by selecting the photo from Gallery and sharing its via Picassa.
The update altered some of my notification sounds with a new default profile for Sounds. Editing the notifications for each service, e.g., instand message, and for each email account, restored my preferences.
The handoff betwen 4G and 3G service areas is much more reliable and that includes going back up to 4G service as soon as I reach an area that has it.
NB: Verizon's tower coverage in each city where it has 4G service is as they say, "highly variable," and is not consistent in terms of staying on 4G even in 4G service areas. I would add that 4G is more sensitive to interference inside buildings than 3G. If you are in a structure, and need 4G, step outside.
I am wondering if part of the instability is there just are not as many 4G antennas placed yet. A town may have 4G but is it placed on every tower in that town??? I am thinking maybe not. So if there are 3 3G arrays set up pointing different directions and only one 4G array pointing in one direction...... See my point?
I am very tired (worked 3rd shift) and cant express myself well right now.
