LG Ally Damaged SD Card

Today my LG Ally randomly told me that my SD card is damaged.  I can't recall anything happening to it recently so I don't know what this could be from.  I tried plugging the phone into my Mac so I could hopefully recover the files, but it doesn't seem to be registering.  I can't plug the SD card into my card reader because it's too small even though my card reader is supposed to be universal.  I even went to the settings and it just says "Mount SD Card" and nothing happens.  I really don't want to lose all of my photos, someone help please!

The only other option is to get a card reader that you can use with your SD card and your MAC. There is a micro SD adapter that can be used that you insert your memory card into, then insert into your computer. Either that, or go buy a usb card reader that supports micro USB. If you still can't access the files once you have it connected to your computer, you are unfortunately out of luck. This is why it is always a good idea to run consistent backups of your phone to your computer.
