Mobile Hot Spot SUPER SLOW

I have an HTC Incredible. I have been using the Mobile Hot Spot feature but lately it hardly works. I will have good service on my phone and the phone 5 feet away from my computer. Pages take minutes to load. My friend has the same phone and when I tether to her Mobile Hot Spot it works great. Why would there be a difference??

Thank you for posting. Certainly I can understand how frustrating it can be not being able to connect to your hotspot. Have you tried putting the phone in airplane mode for about 5 seconds? If not go to Settings>Wireless & Networks> Check Airplane Mode (leave it for 5 seconds and then uncheck) this should help. Please repost if not. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried switching it to airplane mode briefly and then switching it back off. That didn't seem to improve performance at all. Any other ideas??

I have this problem with the HTC Thunderbolt but it is not the hotspot crreating the problem. It is between the phone and the cell system. 3G is usually the problem, but sometimes 4G.
