Recovering the files from failed SD card

I've read all the posts about the failing of the SD card, as mine did when the GB update happened...but I could care less about a new card.  I'm just looking to recover a few folders and movies (my daughter's first steps).  I backed up most of the pics, but these movies are EXTREMELY important.  I've tried 2 different free recovery programs to no avail, but have still not re-formatted the bad card in hopes something will work.  Has anyone had any luck with a specific program?

 

Also, I had moved all my downloaded apps to the SD card a week before it failed, and now most of those apps will not re-download as they say it is still installed.  I cannot uninstall these as they are on the SD card!!  Suggestions?  Alot of the apps were free from Amazon and are pay apps now, so that annoys me as well...

 

Any help is appreciated.

Free apps are never going to work, a company isnt going to give a working app for this option, most free ones corrupt the files instead of recovering the file...  I have used CardRecovery from http://www.cardrecovery.com/ in the pass that worked for me ok..  Sometime get mixed results..

 

I know of a few others that works perfectly but they are corp recovery apps and are in no way cheap in price.. We are speaking a few hundred in price and I dont believe you would want to go there..

Have you tried removing card and then indtallinh?   As for restoring apps you might not have luck, I would invest into MyBackup Pro to backup apps to avoid this in the future.
