If I enroll in the Verizon insurance plan and something happens to my phone, do I still get a refurbished as a replacement?
sob, yes. It's written right in the policy (that you never get a copy of). Is it worth the extra bucks? If you lose or break your phone, yes. If you are very careful in handling your phone, probably not. Once you enroll, it's hard to unenroll.
Yeah, you get a refurbished in china POS. If I break my phone, I really have no problem sucking it up and buying a new/used phone. The Asurion phones are not worth it.

Personally I have had a great experience with Assurion. They even upgraded me to a better phone because it is what they had in stock. There is really no problem with a refurb, at least you know that a tech has gone over it using a 10 category 100 point per category checklist and it works. I prefer refurbs beacause they are tested and known good equipment. I hope that allays your fears. I'd rather pay $99 bucks for a refurb than have to shell out 600 bucks for a new device any day. They will also replace and accessories that you might have lost as well as long as you let them know about them when you make your claim. Well worth it.
