Another "Q" on photos ...

My wife and I recently purchased a pair of Samsung Stratosphere's. These are our first mobile phones. We are both learning all the different things a "Smartphone" can actually do but, ... I have this never-ending question I need some input on ... WHAT IS THE QUICKEST MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO TRANSFER PICTURES FROM MY PHONE TO MY COMPUTER? I enjoy the convenience of having a camera on my phone but, hate the fact that if I want to put them on the computer to save or print them out, I have to individually email them to myself! There has to be a better way!

Any suggestions on this will be well appreciated!

In the online user manual that is quite a bit longer than the quick start guide included with your phone, there should be direction for connecting the phone to the computer has disk drive. From there you can use the computer's file explorer to copy and paste the pictures from the phone to the computer.

You need the USB cable that came with the phone. When you connect the ends to the phone and computer, you pull down the notification bar on the phone and select mount as a disk drive in the USB connection options.

Just to supplement Ann's good advice, the link for the full user manual is http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/stratosphere/stratosphere.pdf. It's worth downloading that to your computer for easy reference. And in fact, once you've got the USB link set up, you can copy it onto the phone and read it with the PDF reader that should have come with the phone (maybe as part of QuickOffice).

Regarding the USB connection, you may already have found that the power cable that comes with the phone is actually just a USB cable attached to a plug/cube. You disconnect that cable from the cube and use it to connect your phone to the computer. Follow the instructions in the manual carefully, and be sure to use the standard Windows disconnect-hardware icon on the computer before unplugging the phone's USB cable.

The photos on the phone will be in a folder called DCIM (just like with a digital camera); of course, you can put them anywhere you want on the computer, rename them, etc., however you choose to manage photos. I love the camera on this phone. I think it takes surprisingly good pictures. It has a macro mode that lets you take close-ups of flowers or whatever. Have fun!

you also have 2 other very easy options. you could take your micro sd card out of the phone and put it in the pc to read it. this assumes 2 things.....1) you have your camera options set to save the pics to the sd card, and 2) you would need some sort of sd card slot (if your pc doesn't have one, there are ones that you can buy for $5-10 that plug in to a usb port).

the other option is an app like "wifi file transfer." i use it (the free version) and when you connect your phone to your home wifi network, you can upload and download files to and from the phone by using your pc. i actually just used this last week to transfer about 200 pictures from my pc to my tablet. this also assumes that you have a wifi network at home.
