Text Messaging Problem - Droid 3

My text messaging service stopped working all of a sudden. When I restart the phone, I get a message that says "The application TextMessaging (process com.motorola.conversations) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Could someone tell me how to fix the situation. I did *228 to reactivate it, but I get the same message. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Try to clear your cache in messages.  Go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications.  Click on the All tab and look for Messaging.  Click on the Clear Data button.  When the warning shows on your screen, click OK and that should do it.  Then you should be up and running.  Let me know if that does not work for you.
