E-Mail Verification error

This morning I noticed my phone had not downloaded my AOL email. I received a message saying: Failed to verify email accounts from this device. All account will be deleted. I have a choice of "yes" or "no". I selected "no." I have an LG Lucid. Everything else seems to be working properly. Any advise?

Not directly but it seems like there have been a rash of Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL email configuration/authentication issues. Is there an AOL app you're using for this? If so I'd uninstall reinstall it. If not simply zap the account and reconfigure it.

I experienced the same thing with my Yahoo email account on my Droid this morning. I thought about just deleting it then reinstalling but I am hesitant to do so.

I had the same issue with my Lucid this morning but with my gmail account. I'm still receiving email notifications but can not access the emails via the standard email app. I have seen forums where other Android phones have this or a similar issue. Some folks have purchased the Enhanced Mail app and seem to be pleased with it. I would but it is $9.99 so I'm trying to see if I can fix this first.

My issue is that I can't delete the account as it is the one tied to the phone set-up. I'd have to reset the phone to the factory settings and I'm not willing to do that yet.

I have a new Droid Razor MAXX; used the standard GMail app icon for my Gmail account, and the other standard email app icon that was already on the phone for my Yahoo account. All was working fine until early this morning, too. The GMail worked fine, but the Yahoo email kept giving me that same error. I went on my computer to check the Yahoo mail there and it was great; so it was not Yahoo. Then I started to look for that Enhanced Email app and happened to find a Yahoo Mail app; downloaded & installed the Yahoo Mail app; it works GREAT! However, I can't remove the old Yahoo account from My Accounts because of the verification error I keep getting....... Any ideas out there about removing that old account settings? I did send the old standard app icon I used before for Yahoo Mail to the Trash dump without any problem.

BTW, the Yahoo Mail account on our older Droid-X still works great using the standard mail app like I first used on the MAXX.

Exact same thing for me. Just started happening this morning on droid lg lucid. Seems suspicious that so many people would start experiencing the same issue within a relatively short period of time.

Mail works fine within gmail app. It's simply the default email program that is experiencing problems.

There are 3 major emails that this is happening to. Yahoo, MSN and AOL are the big ones. It's due to the security updates those companies put out for their email. The workaround is to download the application from the market.

Yes they're free. Just go to the Play Store and search for whichever one you need. AOL, Yahoo. MSN/Hotmail etc...
