Switching devices question

Currently in the Philippines on verizon's unlimited global data plan. my droid 2 global's screen went berserk and i was not able/willing to trust the postal service here to do the insurance routine. went out and bought an unlocked samsung galaxy tab for a replacement. Slapped my verizon sim in it and everything works fine so far. My question is when it comes to the billing side of the house with verizon: will my unlimited global plan for my motorola smart phone cover my usuage on the galaxy tablet? Dont need a couple thousand dollar surprise on my bill at the end of the month. Checked the My Verizon page but it still says I'm using my moto droid. phone, text, data usage still showing at 0 as usual.

I would be VERY concerned about data. There are not any personal unlimited international data plans. And since you are elsewhere it will take a few days for the info to be transferred to VZW from whatever company you are getting data from.

Unless you have a business account with VZW, Then an unlimited data plan would still be in effect. But there is an add'l cost on top of the normal data plan

i signed my contract before verizon switched to the 2G limit plan. My Verizon still says unlimited data as per the contract i signed with them. Again, this is the unlimited global plan, which i have been using for the past couple years in afghanistan, UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Thailand and the philippines along with several other countries. i have never had a problem with data usage in the past while overseas. My concern is switching to a tablet instead of my smart phone. It is going from Android to Android device so hopefully no problems.

There is/was unlimited data on the phone, then there was also an add'l addon for unlimited global data. The Global data plan disappeared about 6 months before the regular unlimited data plans were phased out. (Jan 2011 vz July 2011)

Reading posts on here, many who had the global unlimited data plan were complaining about losing the plan. But they may have been users who added and deleted the addon as needed.

right, i have the plan that was offered in the past (pre-2010). once you have it you maintain the unlimited status until you change your contract, which i havent. they still offer a 2gig global plan, although the information is hard to come by on the Verizon site. Give a call and talk to a rep if you are interested. This is not my concern though, my concern is if the data plan is offered for tablets as well as smart phones. when i switched from my blackberry to droid there was a goof up in the network somewhere until the change hit the system (recieved a text message saying something about$1000 worth of roaming data charges, this was due to the switch between the BB service and the unlimited smart phone plan). This is exactly my concern: perhaps there is a different plan for tabets......i think it might be best just to call a rep to get this situation addressed before i get hit with some high roaming charges.
