vzmessages killing my phone and tablet battery

I recently downloaded the VZMessages app to link my texts from my Samsung Charge to my Xoom. My battery life on my Charge was already poor, but after installing the app, its horendous. I have also noticed that my Xoom battery life sucks now as well.

Can Verizon please find a way to improve battery life for a feature that I really like? Even something as simple as making it easier to turn on and off the sync feature. Right now it is cumbersome.

Hi,

You can go into settings, then battery and data management and you will probably find that VZmessages is set to realtime data push, set it to push every 30-60 minutes if you dont need the info instantly. This might impact your battery life in a very positive manner.
