1. I've followed a lot of the BA forums and I'm not a new Android or Verizon user but I haven't seen a solution exactly to this issue. Also I'm not sure how I got to this place but that no longer matters to me. I think it actually happened on day one at the Verizon store when the rep set up a gmail a/c and did BA and so on. No matter.
2. BA is on on my phone though quite often (but not always) backup attempts seem to fail which does not bother me.
3. I keep my contacts up to date in gmail and that's what I prefer to do. I have hundreds of contacts and the most impt data for me are in the "Notes" field. Not the phone number; address etc.
4. gmail seems to synch just fine with my Droid X
5. I have no duplication of actual entries.
6. What however I do have is duplication of data within an entry. Like one entry after another within the single contact and the data that comes <--> from BA is old and not updated. I can tell by going into BA online and checking it out. That's the data that often appears on my screen before I scroll down (sometimes embarrassing me when I quote outdated info).
7. So my interest is in a) deleting all BA data from my phone, and, b) turning off BA (which I can't figure out either as I don't seem to be able to stop the time setting for recurring sync).
8. Since my data in gmail is up to date (and I've backed it up just to feel good about this), a) can I take the on-line BA option to delete all data (will that really eliminate all contacts on my Droid X?)?, and then, b) go to gmail and have it sync and start all over again (as it were)?. Are there dangers? Better solution?
Many thanks.
