Not receiving some texts.

I have had this problem with my OG Droid, and it is continuing to my new Droid 4. In the past day I have confirmed that three different people (two with VZW and one with Sprint) have sent me texts that I did not receive. I have sent and received hundreds of texts with the people mentioned, but sporadically I will not get an incoming text. What could be the cause of this? It is really frustrating. Thank you.

Make sure you are not turning off your "cell data". We did not receive ones that had pic attachments, found out cell data was off, will not come through on wi-fi

Are you using the stock messaging app or one from the market? if the 3rd party setting are not setup right you could miss some,

Hello boostedty4,

I know text is a very important form of communitcation. Are you still experiencing occasional missed text messages? Do the text come in delayed eventually or do you never receive them? Have you tried observing your incoming text with out any 3rd party applications on the device to eliminate the idea that a 3rd party application could be the cause? Nice and Kraj asked some great questions to assist with a resolution. I using only the stock messaging app. I have never installed a 3rd party messaging app. The texts I know I didnt recive are all text only, no attachments.

The messages never come through. The three confirmed times were from three different phones (Iphone on VZW, Incredible on VZW and HTC Hero on Sprint) I looked at all three of thier phones and the messages were definitely sent but I never go them. These are people i have been texting for years and 99% of the messages work, but once in a while (seemingly more frequent now) I just don't get them. I will be in the middle of a text conversation with someone and I wont get a message they sent.

I thought it was the phone before, but now I have a brand new Droid 4 and it still happens.

Since you have a new device now, we know it is not a device issue now. My question would be: do the people sending you messages have a signature, or are they using any special characters? This could be the cause of you not receiving their messages. It would make sense if they can send you one, and then you don't receive the next one. They may be adding a special emoticon in the next message. Let us know if this helps! If they are not, send me a Direct Message with your name and mobile number and we can investigate further.
