How do I improve the quality of my reception/signal at home?

I recently moved to a new community and the signal strength is awful in my new home.  My wife is on the Sprint network and her signal was also deficient, and they sent her a free booster called an Airave that really seems to have helped.  Does Verizon have anything similar?  I've searched the website and come up empty.  BTW, I have an HTC Thunderbolt.  Thanks for any comments.

I have the same problem. Verizon said they had something like the device you mention but want the customer to pay for it. My FB post this morning when I couldn't hear a word was:  Verizon you suck!  I am sick of paying $200.00 a month and people cannot hear me they only get some of what I say. And I finish with CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!! They recommended trying a new phone, just got the iphone adding another $30.00 to my monthly bill, I had tried 2 different LG phones and that didn't help so why should my bill be so high and we still can't hold decent conversations. They recommend you dial *228 and hit option 2 to update roaming features it has not solved my issues. I have not been able to have a coherent conversation in 2 years, even the verizon customer service rep told me he was only catching a word here and there. Unfortunately my whole family uses verizon and I have not found a better carrier. Up until recently I was very happy with them. Now they have tried to add a $2.00 convenience back fee when you pay on line I love the way they try to make it sound like they are doing us a favor. They tried for a short time for every customer to have to carry at least a minimum $10.00 data fee (they changed the $2:00 fee and the $10.00 fee because they were not well received)  $30.00 no longer gives unlimited internet we only get 2GB. I BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY that FOR THOSE OF US WHO DON'T GET THE RECEPTION MOST USERS GET THAT WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED ON OUR BILL. Why should we have to pay as much when we don't have the service that we once had with Verizon. I have used their services for I bet 15 years over time, I left once because they had billing issues but they were curtious and I came back to them when they made over their billing system. I never had a problem paying for good service and connectivity. But since we moved to the valley 2 years ago we have had terrible connectivity so why should we pay as much as people who get a strong signal.I would be content if they at least took the data charges off our phones to compensate for the poor phone reception, data and txt are my best options for communication now. I emphasize we don't get the full use of their network thus we should not pay for full use of their network. Verizon I would like to see you get this issue solved. Until then I'll post my complaints and warn people of the spots where they won't get the service Verizon so proudly boasts of in this area.
