I'm pretty sure this is a software issue. I may have to take it to the store but I'm trying my luck here first.
About a month ago I started noticing that my music wouldn't switch to the headphone and only play out of the speaker. If I rebooted it it would work. This only lasted for about a day. I did some research online and found how I could hard reset it (holding down the power button and Volume Down for a few seconds for it to reboot). This also worked...for about a day. After rebooting it countless times I read online that restoring it to factory settings will fix it.
As much of an inconvenience this would be (and a pain in the butt) I did it and it worked! I got everything back to the way I like it and just last weekend I started noticing the same symptoms again. Yesterday the jack stopped working all together and my music would only play out of the speaker. I really don't want to bother myself with another factory reset if this will only "band aid" the problem.
I have tried to clean out the jack to no avail.
Any advice?
