How do I remove applications that came with my phone but that I don't use?

I have a LG Enlighten. While I am generally happy with this phone I often get a warning that the phone storage is getting low. There are some applications that came with the phone that I never use. These applications include Google Books, YouTube, Talk, Latitude, Guided Tours, Voice Recorder, and others. These applications take up a fair amount of storage space. Since I NEVER USE THEM these applications are preventing me from doing some of the things I like would do with this phone because they eat up space that I cannot not use for the things I want.

How do I get rid of any pre-installed applications that I don't want?

Yes, I know how to delete applications that I installed myself. That is not what I am asking.

You might as well look at this thread: https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/485754. It's the same question asked by an LG Ally user a day or two ago. The short answer is that  preinstalled apps (AKA bloatware) can't be removed, and most of them can't be moved to the SD card either (since from there, of course, the user could simply delete them).

Some people find this hideously evil, some (like me) find it annoying and unreasonable, some seem to think it makes sense. Arguments have raged in some threads for weeks. If VZW cares, this has not yet been detectable.

How much internal storage does the phone have? How much of it are these apps using? You can use Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications, then hit Menu again and Sort by size to get an idea. This might also reveal that an app you actually do use is taking up room with data and cache. If that's the case, and if the app can be moved to the SD card, that might free up some internal space. In some cases clearing data and/or cache can free up space, but this might also cause unanticipated problems with the app.
