All of a sudden when I try to voice text, the speaker screen comep, then "speak now", Once I state my message "working" comes up on the screen and the mic icon underneath "working" shows a red slash and never connects.  Just keeps showing the working circle. I know the mic is working because I can voice dial from the home screen.

Hello! I know its frustrating to have a device not working the way you would like. Since we know the mic is working, as you stated, we can look at software issues causing this concern. One of the easiest steps to take it is to pop the battery out of the phone when it's powered on. Then after about 15-20 seconds, reinsert the battery and power on the phone. If that continues, a hard reset (http://bit.ly/vsVNHg) may be necessary to fix. Be sure to have your contacts and calendar backed up to Gmail (google.com/contacts) before performing the reset. You may also be using our Backup Assistant application for the contacts, so you can check that at vzw.com/myverizon. Keep me posted.
