Transfering text messages from Stratosphere to replacement Stratosphere

I have quite a few texts I would really like to get transferred from a damaged Stratosphere to my replacement Stratosphere. Does anyone know if this can be done? I have a very narrow window in which to return the damaged phone so if this can be done I've got to do it asap.

There are several SMS backup apps in the Play Store, though I'm not sure how many have a restore feature. I personally use Handcent for all my texting needs and it does have a backup/restore service, but you have to pay to enable that feature.

SMS backup and restore by Ritsch Sahu has a restore feature that as worked well for me through four different phones.
