Not a happy camper!

We got a phone call at the end of March with an offer to have our minutes increased by changing plans.

America's Choice to Nationwide. We didn't need extra minutes and were able to upgrade early instead of waiting till May. The sales rep did not tell me that the Nationwide plan charges data useage pay as you go to download tunes & backup assistant. I had almost 6 mb of data useage and my husband a 1/2 mb. All for the tune of 13.93 to be billed to us. So I had all the features blocked off our new phones except the Backup Assistance but I may remove it too. And when I get a new phone just pay the 10.00 to transfer the phone book for each phone. The America Choice plan did not charge data usage for the Backup Assistant but the Nationwide plan does so we will still have to pay an extra 1.99 a month to keep Backup Assistance. Its not free anymore!

If you are registered at My Verizon, there is no monthly charge for backup assistant.

Yes this is true which we are registered but according to a rep this morning we are still charge the data usage.

You're only charged MBs for the initial download of back up assisant. Any further back up's do not incur MBs.

Paying the $1.99 to download back up is cheaper than paying $10 to have it transferred.

I got burned on this whole data useage thing when I switched plans also. I incured a bunch data charges just from browsing ringtones and apps. I thought I blocked it all but when I checked today I had more.

I called and was told my "mobile email" was the culpret. I had previously been told that after I paid $5 a month for mobile email that there were no data charges. I was told wrong.

I'm sorry but this crap is rediculous!

If the rep did not educate you. Then get a credit on your account. Backup assitance is free if you belong to verizon wirless.com Unfortualnlly reps time to time ( more often than not) Leave imporant details out. Call get it credited not your fault

Amazing--I'm going through this right now. The first operator said there was nothing she could do and I had to pay the $14 fee for watching the little arrows spin in circles and hanging up before some of them even connected. I called back an hour later and got another operator and re-explained and he said it was from changing my calling plan back in April and because no one told me that after 9 p.m. it didn't matter, I'd always be charged, he removed the charge for me (he says <G>) and supposedly has a block on the feature so I can't accidently hit the button. He also said that if I want new ringtones to go online where I can preview all I want and have anything I want sent to the phone for only the d/l charge. Still pretty ticked though at the first person. Just proves, if not happy, call back and be a pain and get the charges removed.

Some reps are good... many are not. Let's hope Verizon can start bringing in better reps... or at least training their current ones to actually TRY when it comes to customer service.

The problem is Verizon trying to force everyone into a data package...period!

When I was looking at phones, some didn't show up because it said I would have to upgrade my package. I upgrade package to this data crap. And now we are all on here talking about data charges.

It's absolutely crazy to pay for an app and also have to pay data useage also.

I cancelled my mobile email today and got the Vpack for $15 (which is what they wanted to begin with). I will just suffer thru checking email thru it now.

This is not much help now ,

BUT every one should all ways shop around , don’t up grade with any Co. or Renew with any Co. till you Shop Around ..

VERIZON and AT&T and Sprint ,, will say that have the best deal ,, But the trick is to find the best deal for you ..

How much calling do I do ?

Do I text a lot ?

Do I use the net ?

Get all the plan details before hand ,, call the Co. more that once if your not sure of any thing and look on there web page for the plan details, as well ..
