Where can I find a cellphone cover/case for my LG Lucid?

I just bought an LG Lucid with an extended battery. Because of the extended battery, my phone is much thicker than it used to be. I want to buy a gel cover for my phone, but Verizon doesn't seem to stock them for phones with extended batteries. Does anyone know where I can find them? And why hasn't verizon made covers to fit the extended battery!?

They (Verizon Wireless) might offer a case later for the extended battery. It took a few months for the Thunderbolt one was available. However you can try www.androidcentral.com or Seido (I think that is how it is spelled.) to see if the extended battery cases are offered there.

Try a Verizon Store. NOT a Verizon Wireless Store, though. I found a nice hard case for my Lucid at the Brentwood, CA Verizon Store. It's around $29 but worth it! The main cover has a kickstand so I can prop up the phone and then there is an outer case that has a belt clip on it. It's very nice looking and also protects the phone really well! I hope this helps!

or buy a regular gel cover and cut out the opening for the extended battery with an exacto knife. that's what we all had to do with the htc incredible a couple years back when NOBODY made a cover for the extended battery.

Good point about distinguishing between Verizon-owned stores and 3rd-party stores (if that's the point you're making). When I got an extended battery for my Samsung Stratosphere, I was told that cases weren't available for it at a 3rd-party store (which didn't have the battery in stock either). But at a Verizon-owned store, they did in fact have a case (just one model).

Another place on-line that you can try is Wirefly.com. One thing you don't want to do is get a case from a mall kiosk or a place like Wal-mart. These cases usually have magnets in them which really drive cell phones crazy.

There is not a silicone/TPU skin available for the Lucid with the extended battery. I contacted LG and Verizon, and they are not aware of anyone that makes this type of case. I then contacted three manufacturers of fitted cases; Ventev (who makes the one Verizon sells), Qmadix, and Body Glove. Qmadix responded quickly, but negatively - they will not make a skin to fit the extended battery. I will look through Amazon again for additional makers of silicone/gel cases to contact; if anyone has contact information, post it here. These manufacturers need to hear from people who want to spend money!

I have a new Lucid and found a great selection, great price and free shipping: Cellphone Emporium. They ship the same day and I received my case two days from the day ordered. They carry the "Dickies" line, which are strong industrial-strength cases. I bought the model that sits perpendicular ON my belt via an incredibly sturdy loop/ Really happy with it. The entire phone fits in the holster. They also carry the belt model that is parallel to your belt.

I believe Verizon Wireless sells the extended battery for the LG Lucid in their accessories store online.

To anyone using the extended battery and large rear cover, needing a horizontal or vertical carry pouch for the phone, I have two suggestions.

1. www.accessorytree.com sells a great quality vertical pouch, with a strong belt clip, made of nylon ballistic cloth (like soft-side luggage) that is almost weightless and fits the "pregnant" size of the extended battery equipped phone as if the pouch were molded exclusively for the phone. The cost was about $12.00 if I remember correctly, and I consider this to be a great bargain.

2. I bought my LG Lucid recently under the sale offered by Verizonwireless. However, I got the phone from the cell-phone kiosk at my local Costco store. When you use the Costco cell phone store, they give you better prices and free accessories that you don't get directly from Verizon. One of the free accessories was a great quality leather carry pouch with a rotating belt clip that can be used either horizontally or vertically. After putting in the extended battery and its bulging rear cover, I was amazed to find that it fit perfectly in the Costco accessory pouch. However, I do not know if you can buy the leather carry case all by itself from Costco, but you could stop by a Costco phone store and ask if you can get their freebie case some other way.

I only continued to shop for another case because the leather case adds a lot of weight to the already heavy phone. So I keep the leather case as the "dressy" case, and use the nylon pouch as the "every-day" casual case. Even though the extended battery made it necessary to go case-shopping, I really like the extra power and extended time that the big battery offers.

I made the mistake of buying my extended battery on eBay, and paid about $10.00 MORE than Verizon is now charging on their Lucid accessories page on-line. It's about $25.00 from Verizon right now.
