what is this connection error

Hello, we have lg5700  enlighten android phones. recently we started getting "connection error" messages when trying to access our email (that would be the default email that came on the phone not our gmail account. Not sure what is going on or is there something that needs to be reset. Maybe there is a way to delete this from my program ...please help !!

Sounds like a network error.  Make sure you phone is connected to either mobile data or a wifi network.  There may be a setting somewhere that causes your data to be off when the screen is off and it is not kicking back on right away.  Some "battery saver" apps do the same thing.  I use Juice Defender to do this, and it does not always kick on immediately after unlocking my phone.
