can a theif access the sd card of my stolen phone?

droid x was stolen yesterday

phone was set up so it needed a password to be unlocked. after 10 failed attempts it did a master reset. if my phone was master reseted. does that also erase my sd card?

(I can not remember if i even had an sd card in there) or is it possible just for someone to remove the sd card, place it in another phone and have my info?...... also is there anyone for them to bypass my phone lock and break into my phone?

just really been bothering me thinking someone has access to all my info, email and fb accts. someone please give me some good news about

That is a drag, man. I thought I heard somewhere that a person could gain access to the phone, through the password (cnet had stories on that), but I am unsure as to how easy it is. The typical phone thief, however, is not a criminal mastermind and I wouldn't be too worried about that. As for the SD card, a person of average intellect could discern how to plug it into a computer and view the files on it, but most of the stuff is unreadable outside of the application it came from. I suspect they only have access to your music, movies, and pictures.

Depending how the cache is written, and who wrote the code... It's as easy as downloading the app and sticking his simcard in their phone, and you wouldn't need to know his lock code.

Same goes by rooting the phone and pulling the information off. Most root methods do not require a wipe to perform.

It appears the concern is with the SD Card and the answer is yes they can access the data from the SD Card by removing it from phone and place in a card reader but on the same note unless you have stored personal data on the card that information should be secure in the devices root directory that cant be accessed unless like Tidbit pointed out if you are rooted or the user understand the methods of doing this without wiping data.

If you are worried about personal data being accessed you should be safe under most cases because the apps store personal data in a encrypted area on the device and cant be accessed simply by most users.
