my files no longer show in windows Explorer, it just shows there is a drive marked Phone and that it is empty.
Now all I get is the add to store my files in the clouds when I connect by usb and it will charge the phone
Make sure you have disk drive (or usb storage, or whatever your phone calls it) enabled. There is an option for charge only when you plug your phone to USB and, while this may show as a drive on your computer, it will not allow for access to your card. If you draw down the notification bar, you can select the USB notification (once plugged in) and it will allow you to choose connection type.
If you are looking for files on your SD card when the phone is hooked to your computer, forget it, won't work. When you attach your phone to your computer using a USB cable, you should see, on your computer, a new drive. This new drive is your SD card. You can move, copy, etc. files from your computer to your phone (new drive); or from your phone (new drive) to your computer with the old drag and drop method. Cloud is a new kid on the block. It allows you to see files on your computer with your cell phone when you are not near your computer. Trick here is that your computer must be ON. I really don't know if you can transfer these files directly to your phone. Cloud does not need the USB attachment. I should also say that Cloud has to be installed on both your computer and your cell phone to function, and as I already said, your computer must be on.
If you draw down the notification bar, you can select the USB notification (once plugged in) and it will allow you to choose connection type.
It must have gotten changed in the butt dial fashion, just the down side of these touch screen phones, you do things without knowing you did them.
Thanks
