Issue with Texting

I have had my Droid 2 for just about a year. Now, when I text, it lets me type a word or sometimes just a few letters, than locks up. If I am using the keyboard, I'll close the phone and use the touchscreen board or even flip it right side up and use that screen - makes no difference. Sometimes, instead of just not typing what I am putting in, it will boot me out to my main screen or into the previous message in the texting conversation. I have done 3 battery pulls, I have turned it off and charged it fully, and I have turned it off and reset it multiple times as well.

Any advice? I realize that Verizon gives out cheap phones that don't last through until your renewal time on purpose to make money, but I really don't have the money to buy another phone.

This has happened to me two times.  Do this...

1.  go to settings

2.  look for Language/Keyboard

3.  Look for "Next Word Prediction"

4.  Uncheck "Next Word Prediction" if it is checked.

Then go back to the home screen and test the textin/emailing feature.  It should work; it worked for me.  If it doesn't work, call Verizon.
