I've got a Samsung Stratosphere running Android 2.3. When I search in the Calendar app for an event, it always first briefly shows a list of all events, then shows the search results. Inevitably, at the top of the list of all events is one that says, "Fake event to work around calendar issue." It is set on 01/01/1975 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, with no repeats and no alarm. When I go to that date on the calendar on the phone, there it is, listed on the calendar linked to my e-mail account; but when I check my online Google Calendar, there is no such event on that or any other date on any calendar.
There seems to be no harm in leaving it there, and I wonder if there'd be any harm in deleting it. A quick Google search showed that this is an event that shows up on many Android phones synced to Google Calendar, sometimes with repeats or alarms. Has anyone else here experienced this? Has anyone successfully deleted it?
