i'm stuck...i'm new to the andriod/smart phone generation & i can't figure out how to scan smart tags :smileysad:

Do you mean the bar codes (often square shaped aka QR codes) on products and posters?
If so, then you will need to download an application from the Android Market. Search for "bar code reader"
