Rezound Temps at 125+

I've had my Rezound for several weeks and I am very pleased with the device. However, it seems to get very warm when engaging in processor heavy activities, such as games or videos. Also, the high temps occur when charging the phone, if I leave the screen on. I added the Battery Circle app to check the temp. When running hot, my Rezound battery will occasionally hit temps of 125 or 126. This occurs with or without the Verizon silicone cover on the phone.

The recent update does not seem to have affected the phone's temps or battery life. This issue has been present since I bought the phone.

Is this within normal limits for battery temp? If not, any suggestions?

That is high temp for the battery. Is it a sustained temperature? I only saw temp close to that range while in the car and running Navigation and another background app for collecting signal strength. I got into the habit of making sure the phone was near a cool air source either the A/C in the summer or the cool glass of the window.

No, not sustained temp. The temps are fine during light to moderate use, like making calls, web browsing, searching the market, etc.. However, when I play a game - Angry Birds, for example - the temps rise steadily to about 125. I think 126.5 is the highest I've seen, but I've only had the app for temp readings for a few days.

High battery temps are a known issue on the Rezound and 125 to 126 is considered high normal. Mine will get to that temp when I'm tethered to my laptop and am streaming music, a video, or a movie. Being plugged into a charger will add heat also, but I almost never try to stream anything unless I'm plugged into a charger. It seldom gets that warm if I'm just tethered to my laptop and doing normal surfing and forum hopping.

On my Rezound, if it starts overheating, the indicator lights will start alternately flashing orange and green to let me know. At that point, I stop what I'm doing to let it cool down. I've never had mine lock up, or shut down from overheating, but I'm not going to push the issue to see if it will.

On other forums, I've read that this issue is being investigated, but as usual, some customer service reps acknowledge it and some don't. If it is happening with just normal usage, I'd contact customer service, or take it to a Verizon store to see about a battery replacement and explain that you don't want to risk damaging your $600.00 phone with a defective $20.00 battery.

To me that's to hot the highest my Incredible or my X got was just slightly over a 100 i would take it back to the store or Call HTC an ask if this is the Normal Temp that it's supposed to get at. You might give this app a try it's called System Panel they have both a free an paid version. an in the app you can monitor the Battery an other things that the phone Does.

During normal usage, such as making calls, web surfing, messaging, emailing, etc, the temps stay under/near 100. Most often the temps are under 90.

I'll continue to monitor the temps and maybe try a battery change to see if there is a difference. Thanks for your input.
