Spent over an hour on the phone tonight discussing my 5th Droid 3 since July. This is the second Droid 3 with problems out of the box with phones that are supposedly "refurbished". Initially, I noticed the keys on the keypad had worn areas from extensive use, but sucked it up and activated it. Just getting really tired of this waste of time with Verizon. After activation, I am unable to use the keyboard to text because the keys are not responsive.
Tonight on the phone with the supervisor, all I heard was requoting of the contract that states I must take another refurbished phone or pay for another upgrade. Well, after spending over $200 in July for the phone and another $119 for accessories (dock, extended battery and chargers), I was told that Verizon no longer carries the Droid 3, but they will send me a refurbished one. ??? Funny they have so many refubished ones on hand.
Saddle that with the $5 a month I am paying for an extended warranty, and it starts to look a little ridiculous.
So I requested to talk to the supervisor's supervisor. She agreed, but told me her supervisor wouldn't be in until Monday, and that he would call me. I replied, "like Verizon was suppose to call me last Sunday and didn't?"
I will have to say that in the past, customer service with Verizon was pretty good. I felt like they genuinely wanted to make me happy. But with five cell phones and contracts expiring at different dates within two years, it is nearly impossible to switch carriers without a substantial charge. Guess they have figured this out.
