The puter talks to the phone, but it doesn't let the phone talk to the puter. I know how to set it to do that, but the phone doesn't let me set it. I have reset the phone completely, but it didn't help. Any ideas?
Hey,
I had a similar problem with my Motorola Droid 3. I would make a calendar entry on my phone, but it would not sync to the online calendar. I could make an entry on the computer, and it would sync to my device. I found the problem was I had to clear the calendar cache. To do this:
1. Press your device's < Home > button, then press < Menu >.
2. Select Settings and then Applications.
3. Select Manage applications.
4. Press < Menu >, the select "Filter."
5. Select "Running."
6. Select Calendar Storage.
7. Press "Clear data."8. Wait for everything to re-sync.
Hope this helps.
Doc
Along with what Doc wrote, you also have to select your Gmail account as the calendar that you want to create the event into. The phone calendar will only save to the phone and will not sync with anything in the cloud.
I had the reverse problem (Google calendar wouldn't sync to the phone), and what StreetDoc outlines solved that problem too. One thing to be aware of: events more than 30 days in the past or a year or in the future (as I recall) may not be synced to the phone after clearing the cache. In my situation, they remained present on the online Google calendar, and I found that by editing each of them individually I could get them to re-sync.
How do you select the google calendar over the phone calendar? It only gives me one choice, as far as I can see.
In the screen where you are creating the event on your phone, if you scroll all the way to the top, there is an option to choose the calendar to save it to the phone/account.
