Every time I connect my new Razr to my desktop via usb, my desktop machine connects to VerizonWireless.com and auto-loads an ad for the Backup system. This is beyond annoying. Is there any way to turn this off?
Actually, the USB Connection menu item is found under Notifications, of all places. It offers :
I'd come across this before, but couldn't find documentation on it. Nothing looked related to Auto-Play. A bit of Goggling found some explanation. It was set to USB Mass Storage, by default. Setting to Charge Only seems to have disabled the annoying auto-connection to My Verizon.
Thanks
menu>settings>connect to PC (or maybe USB connect, something like that)>default connection type. My guess is that it is still set to some sort of sync mode.
What OS are you using?
Go into your Autoplay settings and you can disable it.
Go find your device and you can make it take no action or whatever options you have.
Thanks. Had looked at auto-play, but my device, though connected, wasn't listed. Odd. Changing the USB Connection menu selection (weirdly, under Notifications) to Charge Only, seems to have stopped the auto-connection to My Verizon.
That would really irritate me, the only reason I ever plug my phone into the computer is to transfer/backup my SD card. Why in the world would it do anything besides access your card? It's stuff like this that really irritates me about Verizon's phones.
