Touch screen doesn't work when keyboard is open ... help!!!!

My 2yo Droid2 is being a bitch! I love my slide out keyboard. It's the only way I can text quickly. Swipe is great but it can be annoying. So the other day I'm texting and I go to hit send and I can't. I have to slide the keyboard back in for the touch screen to work. Has anyone else had this problem and was there a fix?? Thanks!

Hi there! Let's see what we can do to get the keyboard working! I suggest popping the battery out of the Droid while on, and leave out for 20 seconds. Then, reinsert and power the phone back on. After that, try to send a text using the keyboard. If that fails, I recommend a hard reset, http://bit.ly/vWYcLK. This will rid the phone of any potential software glitches. Please ensure your contacts, and calendar are backed up to Google/Gmail before resetting. Keep me posted.
