Can't save favorites

I just got the Samsung Illusion and when I am under a contact name, I have the option to click the little star by their name, indicating I want them as a favorite, but there is no way to save it. Also, when I am under my favorites, when I manually enter somebody, it saves them as somebody completely different. Any ideas or thoughts on how to fix it?

Congrats on the new phone! I like having quick access to the people I call most often. It makes things much easier! When you star the person's name, it should save automatically. I have included the steps to add a favorite two different ways:

Creating Favorites

1. From the Home screen, touch Contacts.

2. Touch and hold on a phone or email contact, then select

Add to Favorites from the pop-up menu.

– or –

Touch any contact to display it, then touch the Star at

the top right of the screen.

Thanks for the advice, but none of that works. It will save some contacts, but others, like some of my friends or boyfriend, it saves it as somebody else, even though i am nowhere near that person. As for simply touching the star, it lights up, but when I go into my favorites, it still assigned somebody else to the spot.
