HOW do I get a song that I downloaded for a ringtone.............over to where the ringtones are??
I can get to it, play it but can't set it as a ringtone. It's right there in my downloads. Help?
Thanks!
Hello nanners409. The community members provided you with excellent options for using your downloaded song as a ringtone. But Ann154 provided the easy option to follow. Go to the Market on your device, search for and download a "File Explorer Application". Creating the file on your SD card will allow for easy access in the future. Once you navigate to your downloads and copy and paste the file name to folder created, you will be able to change select your ringtone via your phone.
Another option would be to download a Ringtone Maker from the Market. Your music will be auto downloaded to the application. You will produce the ringtone using any song in your library and save. Once the tone is saved you will be able to assign it as your default or assign to a particular contact. I trust the information provided will help!

Download a file explorer application from the Android Market. Open it up and create the following folder structure in your SD card memory area.
SDcard drive : / media / audio / ringtones
Navigate to your downloads folder and copy and paste the ringtones to the ringtones folder that you just created.
Back out of the file explorer application and go to your Sounds settings and change the ringtones in the ringtones selection list.
If you have a Samsung android phone, create the ringtone folder in the root level of your memory card area.
Two further possibilities for doing the same thing: Your phone may have a basic file explorer on it already (my Samsung Stratosphere came with one called My Files). Also, if you're comfortable connecting your phone to your computer with a USB cable, you can do this kind of file management in Windows Explorer, in which the phone will appear as a separate "drive."
Thank you Ann and thank you Dave, but I have no clue how to do what you said. Sorry. I'll just use one of the ringtones that came with the phone. I did find those. lol.
Plus I forgot to mention that my phone is an LG Enlighten.
Thanks again for your time.
Connecting your phone to a computer as a mass storage device is a topic that is discussed in the full user manual which is available online at the Verizon Wireless website or from the manufacturer's website..
YAY!! Thanks ChaunceyM. I did the Ringtone Maker from the Market and voile' I have "I Only Have Eyes for You" as my ringtone now!! I think you have created a ringtone monster now! LOL.
So much to learn about this phone, I swear I'm to old to learn new things!
Thanks again....................everyone!! :smileyhappy:
I have a Pantech Hotshot WITHOUT internet access. How can I download Ringtone Maker? Is it a Verizon app?
@closecall
The Pantech Hotshot is a basic feature phone. The discussion that your replied to is for an android smartphone.
Unfortunately, you do not have access to the Market. Your only option is to purchase ringtones from Verizon.
