Stratosphere Not Charging Correctly?!

I am having a problem now where my phone is saying that it is charging while plugged in, but when I unplug it is goes down to the orange bar. What is wrong??!

I've tried a factory reset. (I also charged it all night). When it is plugged in, the lightening bolt is there and it thinks it's charging...this happened all of a sudden...it seems like a software issue...please help!

You may have a bad charger. Have you tried using a different charger? Are you charging the phone while it's connected to your computer? If you are, make sure the computer is on. While it was on, I was charging my phone with my laptop, and out of habit, closed the laptop, which turned the it off. The next morning, my phone was nearly dead.

There is also the possibility that you have a bad battery.

Update: The hard reset of the phone ended up working (though I lost

everything). Based on other feeds, it seems that when people have

experienced this exact same problem, it reoccurs and they continually have

to do the hard reset. Something must be going on with the software.

Possible reason: I downloaded a "task killer" that was supposed to save

battery life by shutting things down. The problem happened that night. I

think that program shut down important things for the battery or something.

Needless to say, I hope that it never happens again and thus, I will not

download any more programs like that.

I too had a problem with a task killer too. It screwed up my email accounts, so I deleted it. I got some excellent help and suggestions from VZW Customer Support.

I have the same issue with charging. I had the phone for only 3-4 months & since I got the phone it sporadically decide it doesn't want to charge. It says it needs charging & I charge it then 1 minute pass, it says it's fully charged, but its not...I'd did everything such as herd reset & switching charger but it still doesn't hold charge.the phone is bipolar!!! I'd deleted my downloaded Apps & still doesn't hold a charge. This is absolutely B.S.... its too late for me to call Verizon now but for sure tomorrow, I'm telling them I need a new phone & I am not spending another dime.... It's ridiculous that I have to go through this. It will be more understandable if the phone was a year or 2 old,...smh
