Trouble seeing files on Lucid when connected to PC

I have some pics on my Lucid that I would like to transfer to my PC. When I connect the USB cable to my PC I get a browser window that goes to Verizon and starts playing a video about backup plus. According to Tech Support I should be able to click on the phone icon just like an external drive and download the files but it does not seem to be working.

Anyone else having this issue or know what to do to get it fixed?

If I download an SD card manager I can see the files in the folder that tech support mentioned they would be in, but they do not show when I click on the phone icon in my drives list.

Any help would be appreciated.

On your PC, use the 'windows explore', can you see any extra disk? such as something like : removable disk ?

Check the USB Settings on your Lucid, if that is the "USB mass storage" mode.

If you do not mind, install Apps from play.google.com such as WiFi File Transfer, which let you to transfer files between PC & android device. if you have a wi-fi network at home.

When you connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable, your SD card becomes unusable. This is to prevent any harm coming to the sd card. However, if you open your PC, you should notice a new, removable disk. This is your SD card. As garyvestal1 stated, check on your notification bar on your phone and tap on the USB icon there (looks like a trident). Then check "USB Mass Storage" is selected. Once this is all done, you can drag and drop files from your phone to your computer or from your computer to your phone.

There are ways you can do it using wi-fi and by Bluetooth, if your PC is Bluetooth capable. However, the USB method is fast and easy. By the way, once you unhook the phone from the PC, in a couple of seconds after the unhooking, you should see your SD card again.

When I connect the phone to my computer I do see a new removable disk as

stated and it says it is my LG phone,

When I click on the G: drive it opens a webpage that promotes Verizon

Backup Plus. If I right-click and use explore then this is what is inside.

A closer look at my settings show that I do NOT have an SD card and I am

just using internal memory, but I do not think that would matter. I'm

thinking maybe something is wrong and I need to return it to the store and

have them take a look at it.

Sorry for taking so long to get back after your responses but the emails

went into my spam folder and I just now checked and found them.

Any further insights would be appreciated.
