Verizon wireless so bad it's funny

The bloatware situation is so bad and so well documented it's not really worth discussing again. But I thought this was kind of funny. I have a pretty good system for minimizing the Verizon crap on my phone, and I never use any of it. But in a moment of boredom and weakness tonight I was scrolling through their apps and thought "well I'm stuck with this, maybe I should try it". "It" being the Vcast Apps app. I was feeling pretty sad for even even bothering with what I knew would be garbage. I tried to use it. It required a new download. I decided to play it out so I proceeded with download. Of course the download crashed my phone like every Verizon service does. It took a long time to reboot, it always takes a long time because of the all the bloatware. I finally got it downloaded and rebooted. I tried again to use it. Now I get "Unable to verify your account information please call Customer Service." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Right!!!! I'm going to call customer service and sit on hold to talk to some person who has no clue and doesn't care just so I can attempt to use some feature that has no value!?!!??! But even if I wanted to I'm not sure how I would since no number was provided.

So I'm back to system of ignoring all V services.

Only thing I will agree is that the boot process is long.

I wouldn't say that it has no value at all. There are, perhaps, some customers who get some enjoyment out of it. The problems that I have seen is that people hate the programs by virtue of the fact that the programs exist on their phone in the first place. Just like when a computer is purchased, the company installs programs you will likely never use that take up incredibly small portions of file space. It would be one thing if the expectation was built that you would have a phone free of such things and were then forced to take the additional apps, but instances where companies preinstall apps to any extent should be the true expectation.

^^ I'll agree with you that I understood apps came pre-installed. The rest I disagree with.

1) Your analogy to pre-installed programs on a computer only goes so far. True, stuff comes pre-installed. But I've never found a program I couldn't uninstall and completely remove. NOT the case with Verizon apps on my phone.

2) Some of the Verizon apps now on my phone and unremovable were NOT part of the original package I bought into. They have been added since, so it's not true that I could have or should have had the expectation that they would be there.

3) Unlike your computer program analogy, these apps don't take up "incredibly small portions of file space".The pre-installed Verizon apps + the ones they have added in are so big that my phone perpetually has the "low storage space" indicator. In fact, the auto-Verizon updates often can't even fit due to insufficient space. This really cracks me up. To test this I have completely removed (or moved to SD card) any non-Verizon bloatware apps. Still Verizon can't even fit it's own crap onto the phone the sold me.

My morning ritual is to manually uninstall every Verizon app update that has come in. This at least keeps their size to a minimum. Until the next day when Verizon forces them back on me......

The only thing I can say about Bloatware is that All the providers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile all put bloatware onto your phones. I will agree with you wholeheartedly on one point: When you purchase a new computer which comes with bloatware, you have the option of getting rid of those programs you do not want, or keeping them. The Cell phone providers do not give you that luxury on their products. As for the Verizon V programs, I do not use them at all. They all cost a monthly fee, such as Vnavigator. My bill is high enough that I certainly do not want another monthly charge.
