Droid 3 not receiving all text messages....

I have had my Droid 3 for about 3 months and the last month or so I haven't been receiving all text messages that are being sent to me. I think I get about 90% of them, but that 10% seems like they are the important ones (of course). The people that are sending them are from all different carriers, so I don't think that is the problem, my daughter on my own plan has sent texts to me that I never received. I have unistalled all unecessary apps. But really don't know what else to do, or that would even do anything. Any advice is much appreciated.

I know it could be very frustrating not to receive your text messages. I just wanted to ask a couple of questions. Are you able to send text messages? Are you using the preinstalled messaging application that came on your device or a 3^rd party application? If using a 3^rd party application, remove this application and retest with the preinstalled one. Have you noticed this happening with only certain contacts or does it happen with everyone?

I also ask that you make sure you have the latest software update installed on your device. For more information regarding the latest software update you can visit http://support.verizonwireless.com/system_update/droid3.html. Another thing to try is *228 press (Send) and choose option 2. Let us know if you continue to experience difficulties receiving text messages.

As far as I know my messages are being sent out okay. I am not using any 3rd party app. It seems to happen radomly, not with any certain contacts. I have done the *228 thing a couple times. And it is still continuing. Never had this happen til I got the Droid 3. None of the other 4 lines on my plan seem to experience any problems. However, I'm the only one with a "smartphone"... go figure. If verizon doesn't get a family plan that includes data... soon... we will probably go elsewhere. I can not afford the 30 bucks PER line on top of my already 220 dollar bill. Verizon has provided me with great service over the last 10 years, and is always updating their technology... please update your plans.
