HTC Incredible OTA Update not installing

I have been getting occasional system software update notifications, and when I tap INSTALL, I get the screen that says phone will reboot in xx seconds, it does the countdown, then nothing.  I have tried rebooting the phone manually at this point to see if the update takes place, but it doesn't seem to, and a week or two later, I get another update notification.

Here is my current version info:

Android Version: 2.3.4

I have heard that Android 2.3.5 was pushed out, so I assume that is the update that isn't installing.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello ThomasPHL,

Thanks for posting. If your device is not updating to the latest software please follow these steps:

• Boot into Recovery by pressing and holding power and then choose the restart option.
• When the screen turns off, press and hold volume key down and power.
• Once the white screen appears use the volume key to move down to recovery.
• Press the power key to select recovery.
• When the triangle symbol appears, hold the volume key up and power button at the same time.
• Using the volume key, scroll down and select wipe cache partition. 
• Select reboot system now.



If you are still experiencing challenges downloading the software update after performing these steps I recommend a Hard Reset. Performing a hard reset will erase all data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings and downloaded applications.
