I have a question about changing smart phones

I currently have a thunderbolt, I'm buying a razr maxx. I know the maxx has a micro sim, but how do I change phones? How do I activate the maxx? And, How do I clean my tbolt so I can sell it? My tbolt is currently <deleted>. I'm sure I can leave it <deleted>, Thanks

Well you Could take it to the Store an they would make the change there. They would Take your info from the Sim that's on the T-Bolt an transfer it to the Micro Sim. But if your Bold enough you could get a Sim Cutter Cut the Sim that goes in your T-Bolt an put it in your New Maxx. But i would go with the first Option an have them transfer it.

Now for your Second Question i'm sure there are many that want a ****** Phone But Just like ones wanting a 69 Chevelle that is in Mint condition got the Original Motor an got the Papers on it. It's just a select Few that will take one Home. So it's something you need to weigh in an look on the Market Ebay would be a Good start. But like pawn shops & ones like that or Selling it back to Verizon i would take it Back to Stock.. But that's just Me.. b33 :smileyhappy:

You will need a new micro SIM card for the Razr Maxx. If you are purchasing the phone from Verizon Wireless, you should get a SIM with the phone. If it is from a third party, you won't. You can activate the Razr online and Verizon Wireless will mail a new SIM card to you. You can also go to a corporate VZW store and get a new SIM card that way.

As for your Thunderbolt, you shouldn't give the new owner the SIM card that was used in that phone. It contains personal information about your account and line of service. You should also factory reset the phone and format the SD card. If the new owner knows nothing about the what and how of the "modifications" you have done, as courtesy to them you should bring the phone back to stock. If they go to a Verizon Wireless store for help and the reps won't be able help them.

I agree with Ann, dont every sale the device with your sim in device and also simply activate the Maxx with the SIM that comes with the device, all apps and contact should install from Google as long as you backed everything with Google first.... Also I would remove the sd card because the TB has a larger card than the Maxx.

Now as for the modifications you did to your device if you are not familiar how to reverse the changes I suggest you make the changes clear to the buyer and then go from there but most users wont care because the changes wont be clear to a user because it is on software level and not hardware made changes..

Also Ann is correct that a Hard Reset is a must before you sale your device to another user... Clear all data and cache (Google for instructions) and you should be good.

When you do a factory reset, don't sign back on to Google or all the information they have will go right back into your phone, all the contacts you have listed with Google, and apps. Just do the factory reset and then shut it off.

Corporate stores and getting them through your MyVerizon account will not cost anything. Third party retailers might have different policies.

Actually Ann if the device wasnt purchase from Verizon I think they will charge for the new SIM but I am not sure,
