I think my Rezound just died...

So I restarted the phone after Slacker and Facebook were lagging and eventually freezing and once it restarted it was stuck on the white HTC screen. Pulled the battery a couple of times, still only goes as far as that HTC screen and remains there.

So I took out the battery again, put it back in and did the power/volume down deal and got the white screen w/ the androids skateboarding (sure there is a name for that screen) tried all the options (fastboot, recovery, factory reset) and the phone just powers off. The phone battery was in the 80's before I first started it but plugged it up to the wall charger just in case, still only turns off when in the alternate screen and only goes to the white HTC screen when powered up normally.

I blame the software update...NOT ONE ISSUE before the update, all of a sudden, battery drain, slow speeds, data drop (minimal to be fair) and that stupid VLA issue. Now I am without a phone...thanks a pantload Verizon and HTC!

Not that this is any consolation, and I do not work for vzw, after software updates sometimes phone performance degrades instead of improving. I wish that vzw would allow us to agree to or refuse updates. On my now ancient Fascinate which is no longer sold by vzw except for refurbed handsets, when we received froyo (which took forever), my battery life greatly decreased, but I didn't luckily have as many problems as some owners did. The battery life didn't improve until the GB update several months later. From reading this board I see a lot of people had problems with the Rezound update, I wish the best to you, and hope you get your problems resolved. I would call and complain to VZW, and take your phone into the store to get a new one if it's permanently bricked. I have also read posts on this board that recommend a hard reset before any update to start with a clean slate. personally I have never done this, but some people swear by it.

format your sd card, do a factory reset

That will fix about 99.9% of android problems, especially after a software update

Are you sure that it is not stuck in a boot loop? It takes a long time after a factory reset sometimes for the phone to come back up. Look over in the Rezound forum (lower left of the screen under Spaces) for discussions on the boot-loop problem and how to resolve it.

Thanks everyone! I eventually received a replacement and it seems to work but never got that previous phone to load. I wanted to reset it but never could since it would just power off. I am still having post update issues but whatever, every phone I have ever owned has had some issue with it, only by comparison to my previous 4G devices is this phone good. Now 4G isnt working, but I just stop caring and rely more on my laptop and iPod now more than ever
