Early Upgrade Conditions?

I'm on a family plan and the primary account (not mine) is eligible for an early upgrade. I went to Best Buy to see if I could get a new phone with that available upgrade (transfer the early upgrade to my phone, and swap my August 31, 2009 upgrade date to the primary account). Is it possible to use the early upgrade at an authorized retailer, like Best Buy, and not go through Verizon? The only reason I ask is because the Tour is cheaper at Best Buy.

Unfortunately a reseller or indirect agent such as Best Buy is not able to honor early upgrades. It's only available directly thru Verizon Wireless. Sucks I know. Best Buy has it for $99.99 in my neck of the woods.

Ugh SO annoying! Any suggestions on how to get my upgrade date pushed up from Aug 31st then?

You can't get it pushed up. Sorry. Verizon wouldn't do this for you to upgrade at an indirect, no incentive for them to do it. Check to see if your account is a VIP account, you'd be eligible for a $50 credit off that annual upgrade price of $199.99 w/ Verizon. Or just be a patient grasshopper and wait till you're eligible for your standard upgrade in Aug.

It's hard to be patient. I know. You've probably been waiting a long time for the Tour. What's another month?
