Deleting an Email Account

I added Yahoo email to my email app, but found that the Yahoo app works better than the native Android app as it shows all the folders I have created. So I went to remove the account in the Android app, but can find no way to do so, not matter how many different ways I try. How can I do this short of doing a hard reset on the phone? Can the Android app handle IMAP? I have Android 2.3.6. Are there aftermarket email apps that can handle that if the native app can't?

I found my own answer for deleting an email account. You have to go to Home, menu, settings, and then accounts, select the account you want, and then open. It will then allow you to delete the account. I still need the question about IMAP and other email apps answered though.

Yes, the native Android Mail app does let you set up an IMAP account. There are several e-mail apps in the Play Store that allow let you do this, such as K-9 Mail, which is what I use.
