You should be able to sign into your MyVerizon account for that line and one of the options is suspending the line. There are restrictions for suspending a line like how often and for how long. Also consider that suspension of a line might extend your two year contract for the length of the suspension.
You can also call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and speak with a representative about the possibility of suspension of a line.
