NQ Mobile Security & Antivirus - Worth checking out...

Recently I have been investigating a new method of protecting my device since the latest DKFBookit malware threat brought to light, at the moment only rooted device are the only ones effected by this malware but since hackers are becoming more and more familiar with methods to attack Android users...

I decided to try NQ Mobile Security and Antivirus app from the market and it appears rather impressive from first impression, I really love the option to control data use and also the detail list of all devices rights to curtain information on your device, like contact info, email, locations and so on..

I've heard that NQ isn't bad. There's also Kaspersky & another one that people tend to like but dagnabit if it isn't escaping me at the moment. Sure there's the standard Lookout & Avast! out there but this was yet another one. Maybe it was Bitdefender? Oh that's going to drive me batty now.

ANYWHO...I actually found an article comparing the various apps out there. I wonder if I can find it again. They did some pretty extensive "testing" of the various apps out there. I currently have AVG and I'm about to dump it because of the testing and go with either Avast! or perhaps Kaspersky. I haven't decided yet. May look into NQ again. I already have a Norton's thingy-ma-bob on my phone but haven't ditched it yet. Probably could.

I also have a habit of testing a number of apps for the best one for the job for me, I already have a license for Kaspersky, Lookout and AVG and I was preferring Kaspersky but the application simply used to much battery and resources on the mobile device so I went back to Lookout..

Since NQ was the only one that reported it could detect and remove the new BootKit malware I decided to try it and see how the app compared to the others, NQ detected a number of apps with security vulnerabilities that the developers also verified as a issue once I reported it to them and shortly after they patched the detected security issues.

NQ Mobile Security was the only one to identify these security bugs that really impressed me compared to others. So far it has showed some positive reasons to use the application over others but this is still a first impression and haven't decided if I will go for the Pro version.
