Why (after 5 days) did my LG Rev, say phone memory full?

I tried to send a text message yesterday and it said phone memory full, delete files. But as I looked at my memory, there was hardly anything on it. Haven't even had the phone for a week. I shut it off and restarted and then was able to text. How can I keep this from happening again and why did it happen in the first place?

The LG Revolution is an excellent device with a memory slot that can be expanded up to 32GB. May I ask did you purchase a brand new Revolution or a certified pre-owned one? The brand new device comes with a 16GB memory card pre-installed where as the certified pre-owned one comes with an 8GB pre-installed memory card. The onboard memory of the device is only 512MB of RAM, which is not a lot when compared to the memory card. Below are a few steps that you can take to ensure that you won't have future memory issues.

• Verify that all pictures, videos, and music are being saved on the memory card.
• Clear the cache and history from the web browser.
• Uninstall any unused apps from the device.
• Remove any unused widgets from the home screen(s).
• Clear data  and clear cache in the Settings menu on commonly used apps.
• Erase all long threaded text messages from the text message inbox.
• Lower the message limit for text message threads.

Once you have implemented the steps above, please reboot the phone and check how much available device memory is on the device. I would recommend checking this weekly for the 1st month to ensure that the memory issues are resolved. If you have any additional questions or concerns then don't hesitate to reply to this message.
