So I went on a vacation to South America, turned on the DONT allow data roaming feature, purchased wifi from the cruise line, and the first time I turned my phone on it started downloading data and the warning came up about excessive charges. I quickly went into settings and the circle that says don't allow data roaming was still checked??!!!. I immediately called Verizon's Global services, they immediately credited me 30.00 and asked me to place the phone into airplane mode for the remainder of my trip. While this did work, what I don't understand is why my phone suddenly started using the network when it was clearly "turned off" for data roaming. Verizon was also confused and could not offer me an explanation. Before we got on the cruise we were in Buenos Aires for a few days and the deny data worked fine as I used the hotel's Wi Fi. This problem did not occur until after I was on the ship. Very confused, any thoughts before my next trip?
