Droid 2 Global Text Problem

I am having a problem with my droid 2 global and it texting. Most of the time is works fine but once in awhile a text message will get hung up and not send until I send another text to that person and then they both go through. Is there a fix for this or what should I do because it gets quite annoying. I have done a soft restart and took the battery out for awhile but still nothing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi mnstrmn8 and saynomore8,

I regret to learn that some of your messages are not going through. I do have some tips for you to assist. I would also like to ask if you are using the stock messaging application from the phone, or are you using a third party application? If using a third party application, please uninstall it and use the stock application to see if this resolves the issue.

If you are already using the stock messaging application, please clear the cache. I have provided the steps below. Menu Settings Applications Manage Applications All (on top) Messaging Click on Messaging and then click "clear cache." Once this is completed, monitor the device and let us know your results.

In addition, I would like to mention that it is a good idea to get into the habit of powering the phone off and on once every couple of days, and not to leave it powered on for days or weeks at a time. There is no need to leave the phone powered down for any significant amount of time, a minute or 2 is perfectly fine. The reason for this is that every time a cellular phone powers on, it re-registers itself with the network. There is a constant connection from the phone to the network, and this registration can sometimes "time out". So, you may be able to prevent this by simply power cycling the phone once a day or so.
